Our story
Planet X Performance was created to solve a problem: the starter mount on a General Motors LS engine broke, leaving the engine unable to start. Our Trinity Starter Bracket was the solution. Our passion is General Motors performance mods and developing solutions where the factory falls short.

Who's behind it
- Mark S. Sassman Sr., President. A federally licensed aircraft mechanic.
- Michael J. Sassman, our engineering partner. A Purdue University engineering graduate and President of Mullet Engineering, which co-designed the Trinity with us.
The Trinity Starter Bracket
The Trinity adds support for your starter by bolting to the transmission mounting bolts above and behind the starter. There's no cutting or modifying the block, and it's designed to work with long-tube headers.
- Two ways to use it: reinforce a healthy block before the starter mount fails, or as a repair option when the starter mount is damaged but the inboard starter bolt hole is still intact.
- Fit rule: the Trinity needs the inboard starter bolt hole on your block to be intact. It does not fix a block whose whole starter ear is missing.
- Options: 100% American 1040 steel, or 304 stainless steel. An optional alignment tool lines up the bracket when the inboard bolt hole's threads are stripped.

We run one on Mark's 2000 Camaro SS with long-tube headers. Header and bellhousing designs vary, so if you're not sure, send us photos before you buy and we'll check your setup.
What we sell and what we don't
- Planet X Originals: the Trinity Starter Bracket and the Trinity alignment tool. We design these and ship them ourselves.
- Parts from other brands: approved performance parts that ship directly from a distributor's warehouse.
- What we don't sell: anything emissions-related. No tunes, no catalytic converter deletes, no EGR or O2 sensor deletes, and nothing else that changes your vehicle's emissions.
