The Powermaster 9004-9 is a PowerMAX Plus starter for LS-based engines, built as a Hitachi PE106-style replacement. A permanent-magnet motor turns a 3.7:1 gear reduction, and Powermaster rates it for engines up to 16:1 compression with 180 lb-ft of cranking torque. It clears most headers and works with most oversized kick-out oil pans, and the billet aluminum mounting block can be set in three positions. This is the natural-finish version.

Broken starter ear? If the outboard starter mounting ear on your LS block is cracked or broken, the Trinity Starter Bracket can repair it without machining. The block’s inboard starter bolt hole must still be intact. The Trinity can’t fix a block where the whole starter ear is missing.
